UW Educational Outreach has an outstanding opportunity for an Interim Senior Director of Finance.
The position has a key role in planning, developing and administering resources for the organization?s programs. The Interim Senior Director reports to the Assistant Vice Provost (AVP) and as a part of the senior leadership team will be responsible for helping to shape and articulate the organization?s strategic plans, identify growth opportunities and formulate comprehensive financial development plans consistent with the goals of the UWEO organization and the University of Washington.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
FINANCE ADMINISTRATION
-Direct and oversee Finance operations; responsibilities include end-to-end coordination and maintenance of financial management, budgeting, planning and reporting systems for all of UWEO. Finance operations also includes oversight for payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivables, risk management, contracts and cash handling.
-Provide timely budget summary reports throughout the budgeting process and produce final reports. Provide annual budget summaries for academic departments, schools and colleges. -Work with senior directors and directors to develop departmental and program budgets. Work with directors on specific budgeting issues such as course fees, registration fees, application fees, etc.
-Provide analysis for Vice Provost, AVP and directors regarding fiscal trends, program cost effectiveness, implications of new program formats and product lines. Provide quarterly and annual revenue and cost projections to the Vice Provost and AVP.
LEADERSHIP
-Contribute to the overall strategic direction of UWEO and collaborate effectively with other members of senior management.
-Make decisions from an organizational perspective and generate recommendations that contribute to the solution of organization-wide problems.
-Incorporate organizational directions and goals of UWEO in decision making for Finance.
-Understand major UW and UWEO policies/procedures. Ensure compliance with University and state policy and procedures, and audit compliance and remediation.
-Responsible for hiring, training, mentoring, and separation of classified and professional staff in a timely manner that reflects the needs of the organization. Provides and encourages staff evaluation and staff development linked to organizational goals, Finance objectives and job descriptions.

-Represent the University; act as a liaison to other units of the University.
-Work as an effective member of a team with others at the UW by generating ideas, sharing feedback and encouraging the positive efforts of colleagues.
-Work well and collaboratively with academic and/or administrative units.
