STANFORD, Calif -- The Husky women's golf team - fresh off a 9th-place finish on Wednesday in the Northrop Grunnam Regional Invitational - tee it right back up, starting Saturday in the Peg Barnard Invitational at Stanford Golf Course.
After playing 54 holes Monday through Wednesday, the Huskies are among 13 squads competing on Stanford's home course in the 36-hole tournament, Saturday and Sunday. Joining the Huskies at the par-71, 6,051-yard track are Boston College, California, Fresno State, Nevada , New Mexico, Oregon State, Rollins, San Jose State, Santa Clara, Stanford, UC Davis and San Francisco.
Washington was No. 1 in Golfweek's rankings on Monday, but dropped to No. 7 after this week's earlier tournament. The Huskies are No. 35 in Golfstat.com's rankings.
The Huskies have one lineup change the weekend. Cyd Okino will step in for Brittany Tallman in the team lineup.
Joining Okino are Charlotte Thomas, SooBin Kim, Jennifer Yang and Ying Luo. Tallman will compete as an individual.
Thomas led the Huskies at the Northrop Grunnam Regional with a ninth-place finish. The freshman is the No. 21 rated individual by Golfweek.com. Kim is ninth in that same poll.
The tournament will begin on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. Washington is paired with Stanford and UC Davis.
