Body of Rome man missing since June 25 boating trip found floating in Oneida County's Lake Delta

A 62-year-old Rome man who had gone missing from his boat June 25 was found Sunday afternoon floating in Lake Delta, Oneida County sheriff's Lt. James McCarthy said in a news release.

Arthur Carney's body was recovered in the general vicinity where he was last seen nearly two weeks earlier, the release said. Carney had gone missing while boating on the lake.

The sheriff's office, friends and family had been searching for Carney. The people who saw his body Sunday were not involved in the search effort, McCarthy said in the release.

The sheriff's Marine Unit removed Carney's body from the lake. An autopsy will be performed.
